Apathy 07:07
There's something that's been eating at me for a while But I've got no one to spill my guts to Everyone around me wears a smile But I question if they're genuine There's no shame in lying When everybody lies all the time This negativity that stirs in me Is boiling, about to blow Sludge and slime covers the wall Apathy murders us all Anger and hate are supreme At least that's how it feels to me Everyone around me, they don't care Apathy is venomous Yet I can't help but to share that Apathy is contagious Lucifer has shown me more Light that Jesus Christ Why try and hide what's deep inside? Ticking time bomb 'bout to blow Sludge and Slime covers the wall Apathy murders us all Anger and hate are supreme At least that's how it feels to me Constantly reminding myself that I'm Worth more than this trivial bullshit Yet I cannot help but feeling as if I'm completely utterly worthless There's something that's been eating at me for a while But I've got no one to spill my guts to Everyone around me wears a smile But I question if they're genuine Everyone around me, they don't care Apathy is venomous Yet I can't help but to share that Apathy is contagious Sludge and Slime covers the wall Apathy murders us all Anger and hate are supreme At least that's how it feels to me

Black Book 06:00
All my life I've been tortured By those who think they're better I've had enough of their abuse It's rendered me as a recluse But I've found a Black Book And inside, instructions I took My vengeance will be upon them Now rise, my demons! Run away, you can't hope to escape your fate Feel the fury of the fires from Hell Wherever you may hide we will find you Now that we've tormented All of your tormentors Our services have been rendered Now's the time to pay us So you say you can't pay us You should have read our contract Our time won't go wasted Relinquish; Give us your soul! Run away, you can't hope to escape your fate Feel the fury of the fires from Hell Wherever you may hide we will find you

In the darkest depths of all our minds There lies a voice that carries us through It's the voice of anger and mistrust To give a lie to bury our tomb Count to the Jumper who finally realized Count to the Reaper who heard all his cries Count to the Jumper who finally realized Count to the Reaper... If God was my dear friend, he's running me far to cry Keeping me alive only to dig a deeper grave What happened to me? Has God abandoned me? I no longer want to be saved Count to the Jumper who finally realized Count to the Reaper who heard all his cries Count to the Jumper who finally realized Count to the Reaper...
4.
I'm wandering aimlessly Pondering endlessly This is mist is blinding No sun shining Darkness consumes me Sanity I'm losing I'm so lost and so cold and so alone I don't know why I've come to this place This forest of Despair I'm hearing noises Menacing voices They tell me to leave And not come back Glowing red eyes penetrates this dark place It sees me. It's hungry It's ravenous It follows me Wherever I go I feel its breath Behind my neck
5.
You don't know me You don't own me You can't control me You can't tell me what you think's wrong from right "Do as I say not as I do" You forget the example's set by you "Hypocrite" spelled across your lips Overprotective Overly sensitive Over reactive Overly ignorant of what's really wrong and right Listening to labels by laws You forget you once did it a lot Media poisoning your mind "Do as I say not as I do" You forget the example's set by you Hypocrite spelled across your lips Overprotective Overprotecting!

about

This EP is a definite example of a young, freshly established band rushing themselves into a studio with only so much figured out. Mixing and recording was done at The Barber Shop Studios by Max Barber. Our bassist Brandon Davis and Max were once bandmates in Max's metal band Charonyx.

Here's a link to their EP "Hearts of Steel" and here's a link to The Barbershop Studios Facebook page

Outside Barber's own band, we are the first band to record in the Barber Shop. The recording of this EP started late 2015 during the holiday season and ended mid January 2016. Originally, this record was going to be the band's first album called "World Full of Sin" to capitalize on the formation of this band, which initially was known as "MadWorld."

We were rather disorganized coming into this record. We didn't even know what to name the project. Originally, the working title was "Children of the System" but Shasta opted to keep that as a title for a three-part song he is working on. We altered the title to - "Child of Man" the name of a song Brandon was working on. This song was no where near finished, so the band tucked it away and replaced it with the Nirvana-inspired number "Overprotective," but we kept the name of the EP. Also during the recording of this album, we added an additional guitarist to our ranks: Jeff Reagan. It was too bad that all the guitar tracks had already been recorded. So unfortunately, non of Jeff's works are shown in the EP.

The artwork for the EP was penciled by Seth J. Milenbaugh, an aspiring writer, illustrator, and friend. Freddie Rodriguez came up with the concept, inked, and colored it, and the art was touched up by Jordan Trumble, a recording artist, practicing audio engineer, and friend. Working solely with the name "Child of Man" an idea came to mind: The product of mankind... The Earth is a womb, and inside is a malformed fetus, taking in nutrients poisoned by the actions of mankind through an umbilical cord that twists around its neck. Sick of the poison that it is forced to take, it takes a pair of scissors, ready to cut the cord and end its suffering.

One issue came about before releasing this record. We had to abandon the name "MadWorld." There is another band, and countless other entities, with the same name and we wanted to avoid facing possible legality issues. So to keep our asses from getting sued, we changed the name to "The Draoi" --old Celtic for "wizard." The Draoi was an old name that belonged to a project Shasta Sleeves was a part of. As you can clearly see, however, we are no longer the Draoi, but the music we made will remain, and much more is to come.
